Sarasota Area Pool Resurfacing Experts

Just like your car, a pool needs regular maintenance. Depending on the weather conditions in your area, your pool will need to be resurfaced every few years. Luckily, at Super Shark Pools we do pool repairs, maintenance, leak detection, pool resurfacing and more. When it comes to pools, we do it all.

How Do I Know If I Need Pool Resurfacing?

When you are in need of pool repairs, the signs can be pretty immediate and obvious. Be on the lookout for any of these symptoms and then call the pool resurfacing experts at Super Shark Pools.

Stains

Your pool may begin to show stains due to overexposure of chemicals and general debris in the water. Likewise, algae can leave behind stains if not cleaned immediately. Most stains can usually be cleaned off with regular pool cleaning. However, if your stains simply are not budging, it may be time to have your pool resurfaced.

Erosion

Just like how waves in the ocean wear away the rocks on the shoreline, water flow in your pool can also cause wear on your pools surfaces. The best way to prevent this is to always maintain an accurate chemical balance in the water.

Water Level Low

As a general rule, the water level in your pool should not change that much. If you find that you have to fill your pool more frequently, there is a good chance, a crack is present in your pool's surface. In many cases, these leaks are small and undetectable to the human eye. However, they can still require you to fill the pool frequently. At Super Shark Pools, we can detect if you have a leak no matter how small. After a leak is discovered, we can repair it and resurface the area to get you back to your Florida swimming again.

Rust

When you see rust, it can be a sign that your pool needs to be resurfaced. Rust occurs when metal objects fall into the pool water. This can consist of toys, hairpins or even dust and debris from construction projects nearby.

Discoloration

When you install a brand new pool, you love having that beautiful blue color in your backyard. However, as the pool ages, some of those materials will start to lose their vibrancy. It is not uncommon for white blotches and discoloration to appear on surfaces as they get older. If the discoloration is widespread and all over the pool, then it is probably time you took a look at resurfacing the pool.

How Often Do I Need To Get My Pool Resurfaced?

As a general rule of thumb, pools need to be resurfaced about every ten years on average. However, with regular and accurate chemical balancing, a homeowner might be able to extend the lifespan of a pool's surfaces. Materials used to build a pool can also have an impact on how often pool resurfacing needs to take place.

  • White Plaster: 5 to 15 Years

  • Polished Surfaces: 5 to 15 Years

  • Quartz: 10+ Years

  • Exposed Pebble: 15+ Years

How Long Does Pool Resurfacing Take To Complete?

Once you contact Super Shark Pools for your pool resurfacing project, our expert will explain the process to you. On average, after we have a chance to review the project details and an estimate is approved, a project generally takes about two weeks to complete.

In some cases, a project could take longer due to schedule availability, the extent of damage in a pool and the overall size of the pool.
